Wedding outfit ideas

It’s that time again where we get to dress up and witness couples shed a tear and say, “I do”. With this special occasion comes a lot of overthinking around what is and isn’t appropriate to wear to a wedding.

Something you may want to avoid is looking like you are part of the bridal party and ignoring the requested dress code. It is not only polite to follow the dress code, but it will also spare you the embarrassment. If you are still not sure, then Google the venue to get a better idea of the look and feel the bride and groom are going for.

Either way, there is no reason for you to rock up over or under dressed because I am about to share some basic suggestions to help you select a perfect outfit.

Take advantage of the season and go for something bright and simple, but stands out. This bodycon dress with ruffles is a perfect mix of simplicity and style. You can wear the same colour shoe, nude to tone it down, something gold and strappy or printed , but elevated footwear is a must!

If you are not one for pretty dresses then opt for a pant/jumpsuit! Jumpsuits are stylish and an easy way to make a statement. You can have fun with rich colours, go bold in a pretty print or stick to something sexy and classic like black and white.

A festive floral print is the great answer to all guest attire questions this wedding season. And, it doesn’t hurt that these classic prints have taken over the bridal and ready-to-wear runways. If you’re going for a more formal vibe, consider a more painterly print—it’s a chic combination of whimsy and elegance.

Additional things to keep in mind:

  • Pop your outfit with accessories.
  • Always prefer carrying a clutch or a sling bag over big office or beach bags.
  • Wear shoes that are comfortable for dancing etc. because wedding ceremonies are followed by receptions, which always feature dancing.

P.s These are just a few ideas… Do what works for you!

Happy Styling!
